Chiropractic care increases immune system function in HIV positive patients

The Chiropractic Research Journal reports on a study that found specific upper neck Chiropractic spinal adjustments increased the immune cell counts of patients who test positive for HIV.

The tests were performed by the patient's independent medical centers where they were under care. "A 48% increase in CD4 [immune system] cells was demonstrated over the six month duration of the study for the group [under Chiropractic care]."

The study concludes "preliminary results suggest that chiropractic adjustments of the upper cervical spine may increase the CD4 levels in HIV positive individuals. These results suggest that follow-up studies of the link between the nervous system [and] immunity are well warranted." s
