Patient With Colitis, Infertility Improves With Chiropractic Care

The August 31, 2003 issue of the Journal of Vertebral Subluxation Research highlights a case study of a 32 year-old woman with chronic colitis improving under chiropractic care. Shortly after her colitis symptoms cleared up, she became pregnant, resolving a previously undisclosed infertility problem.

When she first consulted her chiropractor, she did not mention that she and her husband had been trying to have children for seven years and that during that time she had undergone unsuccessful medical treatment for infertility.

After just 4 months of chiropractic care, her colitis symptoms disappeared. Approximately one month after that, she reported that she was pregnant. At this time she told her chiropractor of her infertility problems. She also reported that she and her husband had given up on having children approximately one year before beginning chiropractic care and were considering adoption.

The author notes it is very interesting that the resolution of the colon problems and the pregnancy occurred so close together. Because of that, he concludes it would seem that chiropractic care played a role in resolving the infertility issue as well and suggests that further research be conducted.

Commentary: Anytime nervous system interference is removed, the body functions better and is able to resolve all sorts of problems whether they involve digestive, reproductive or any other systems. What must be kept in mind, however, is that continuing chiropractic wellness care, keeping the body free of nerve interference, ensures the body will continue to work at its highest potential.
